hannspree needs to tweak itself and then it really has a nice tool. For the dilettante, one avg movie dvd requires about 4 gigs of storage space. I infer you could always be transferring to an external HD, but it’s not held to demand that kind of rube goldberg adaptation. But if you plot on storing data, like files of fotos, videos, films, ID, you would be screwed. I mean people buy iphones and iTouches with only 8 GBs, so it might not be a huge deal. But if you didn’t need storage space, it would be a fantastic small machine. The tech support said this was corrupt and they needed to peacefulness a new windows 7 restore disc from hannspree.
So it’s left with 26 GB C guide storage space, and 253 GB Data D guide, backup only. I did a restore with the accompanying disc, but here was no option to change the partition. So most of my storage space was inaccessible. OK> Two days later, noticed the hard guide was partitioned to make most of it Backup, about 90 percent really. Apparently vista was not a big enough lesson. I’d give it all 5 stars if windows hadn’t changed their Solitaire format from the XP version. It comes with IE, but i prefer mozilla and use that. Also the wifi reception is strong (3 floors above a coffee shop), and video news clips like maddow from msnbc, current tv, etc, play very well. It was on and i was sitting off to the side, about 75 or 80 degrees away from perpendicular, and i could see the screen clearly. One thing that blew me away was the monitor display. But at the moment it’s easier to use than the Mac, and hasn’t caused migraines like the other two mentioned. Maybe it will blow up and this comment is a jinx. Added some burning software, vlc player, etc.
I’ve used an external mic and external speakers to make gmail calls and they are clear. At one point it hicupped, but then mysteriously updated 91 items and has run great since. After watching the territorial battle between mcafee and norton i dumped them both and loaded security essentials. It’s also the only netbook i’ve seen that has a dual core intel processor.
